A walk-in bath lets you step through a door and sit down, rather than climbing over the side of a bath. That makes bathing safer and easier, and lets you keep your independence at home.
Every Vidalux walk-in bath has a low threshold step, a slip-resistant base, a simple door lock that needs no gadgets or electrics, and twin wastes so it empties quickly.
Choose a standard model for a deep, relaxing soak, or a Whirlpool & Airspa version for hydrotherapy jets and an in-line heater. If you qualify for VAT relief, the price you see is the price you pay.
Pennington Compact: our smallest walk-in bath at 1000 x 700mm, ideal for small bathrooms or replacing a shower tray. It has an outward-opening door and comes with taps, waste and both side panels.
Ashford: a deep seated soaker in 1200 and 1350mm lengths, with an inward-opening door.
Denton: our wheelchair-accessible model at 1300mm, with an outward-opening door and a weight support handle for easier transfers.
Abberton: a full 1700mm bath with a walk-in door, so you can lie back and stretch out.
Coniston: a 1700mm walk-in shower bath, wider at one end to give you room to shower as well as bathe.
Every model comes in left- and right-hand versions, and in standard or Whirlpool & Airspa specifications.
Walk-in baths come in two styles. Our tall models (Pennington, Ashford and Denton) stand around a metre high and have a built-in seat, so you sit upright in water that comes up to your shoulders. They’re easier to get in and out of, and fit smaller spaces.
Our long models (Abberton and Coniston) are the size of a standard bath, with a walk-in door and a lower 610mm height, so you can recline as you would in a conventional bath.
Choose by how you like to bathe and how much getting up and down suits you.
An outward-opening door (Pennington and Denton) swings out into the room, leaving the full doorway clear. That makes it the easier choice for anyone with limited mobility, and essential for transferring from a wheelchair.
An inward-opening door (Ashford, Abberton and Coniston) swings into the bath, so it takes up no room space, which helps in a tight bathroom. Both use the same secure, easy-to-use locking mechanism.
Start with the person using the bath. If they use a wheelchair or need to transfer from a seat, the Denton is designed for exactly that. If standing and sitting is manageable but climbing into a bath isn’t, the tall seated models are the easiest to use.
If they’d like the feel of a traditional bath, choose the Abberton or Coniston. Then measure your space, choose left- or right-hand to suit the position of your plumbing and walls, and decide whether hydrotherapy jets are worth adding.
A walk-in bath depends on its door seal, so ours are built around a leak-proof door with a simple mechanical lock that anyone can operate, with no electrics or buttons to go wrong. A fast-flow faucet ensures quick fill times, and the double waste ensures quick drainage
Twin wastes empty the bath quickly, the slip-resistant base gives grip underfoot, and our some of our Whirlpool & Airspa models include an in-line heater to help keep the water warm.
Every walk-in bath comes with a 5-year warranty and is supported by our UK team, with VAT relief available for qualifying customers.
Yes, if you have a long-term illness or disability and the bath is for your own personal use, you can buy it without paying VAT. The prices shown already exclude VAT.
Simply complete our online VAT relief form after ordering and before delivery. It takes a couple of minutes and there’s nothing to print. If you feel you don’t qualify, VAT is added at the standard rate. See our step-by-step guide.
Yes. The door must be closed before you fill the bath and stay closed until it has drained, so you’ll be seated inside for both. Fast-flow taps and twin waste outlets keep the wait as short as possible.
Some Whirlpool & Airspa models feature an in-line heater that helps keep the water warm while you bathe. Many users keep a towel or dressing gown within reach so they stay comfortable while the bath empties.
There’s a walk-in bath for most bathrooms. The Abberton and Coniston are 1700mm long, the same as a standard bath, so they can usually replace your existing bath in the same space.
The Pennington Compact, at just 1000 x 700mm, fits spaces where a standard bath won’t, and can replace a shower tray. Remember to allow room for the door to open: outward-opening doors need clear floor space in front of the bath.
Taps and waste are included on every model, and come with both side panels where stated, so they can be fitted either way round.
You’ll just need standard pipework and fittings to connect to your supply. Whirlpool & Airspa versions also need an electrical connection by a qualified electrician for the pump, blower and heater.
You can connect the dual wastes to a home’s single outlet pipe; however, this will reduce drainage time as it creates a bottleneck. The best way to implement dual wastes is to have two individual outlets going to the home’s soil stack to ensure faster draining times
When the Whirlpool system is running, the water passes through the pump and is used to keep it cool. As a result, you do not lose a vast amount of the water’s temperature from running the system.
Models with an in-line heater help maintain the bath’s temperature whether you’re using the Whirlpool system or just having a soak, so your soak stays warm for longer. The heater is designed to hold the water at temperature, not to heat it from cold, so you’ll still fill the bath from your normal hot water supply. If you have a cylinder, check it holds enough hot water for the bath size you choose.
Yes. Vidalux uses antibacterial pipework as standard on all models.
Deluxe models add additional Ozone sterilisation to help keep the pipework clean. Occasional cleaning with a whirlpool system cleaner, following the manual, keeps everything fresh.
We supply the bath only, so installation and removal of your old bath are arranged with a local plumber or bathroom fitter. Because walk-in baths connect like a standard bath, any competent installer can fit one. Send them the product page before they quote so they know the dimensions and door direction.
A walk-in bath is deep but usually holds no more than a standard bath, so most homes will manage without any changes. If you have a combi boiler, this is the ideal scenario in which you will have no issue. With a cylinder, make sure it holds enough hot water to fill the bath in one go.
For any older type gravity-fed systems, consideration should be given to the size of the tank and its ability to meet the hot water demand.

This is the second Vidalux cabin I have purchased. This one is an electric shower, right hand in black. It looks magnificent in my newly refurbished bathroom. The cabin has reduced the amount of re-tiling required significantly. Relatively easy to install.Posted on Google Kevin JamesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Vidalux SS80 NO ELECTRICS free standing shower cabin, purchased June 26. This is the second purchase I have made of a shower cabin from Vidalux, from selection on the website to purchase everything was so easy, once the purchase was completed the confirmation support was excellent. I was emailed regarding a suitable delivery date of my choice and when I had chosen a date I was given a window time for delivery. All in all the selection, purchase and delivery date couldn’t have gone any smoother. As with a previous purchase from Vidalux all components of the shower cabin were packaged for protection and once delivered it had everything required to build a complete shower cabin, as very precise instructions were included I had no problem in completing the self assembly my self, not a problem if your handy the instructions and videos on the Vidalux website are there to assist you if you’re struggling. However if your not into DIY then you need to bring in someone who is capable of being able to assemble the unit whether they be professional or otherwise, certainly don’t try to assemble it yourself because you may regret it. All in all I’m very satisfied with my second purchase from Vidalux and would definitely recommend them if your thinking of buying from them, quality units at very competitive prices.Posted on Google Cole FamilyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Purchased a Vidalux RT79 as we needed a shower in a very small bathroom. I chose this for its leak free promise and I can see from the construction that it is unlikely that leaks will be a problem. The parts were good quality and fitted together without too much difficulty, that said, the instructions could have been a bit clearer especially for the plumbing connections. A manufacturing defect on the tray was swiftly and easily resolved by the customer service sending out a replacement. The pod is small enough to fit where the bath was and unfortunately the shelf inside is just where I would bump my head on it, so that is removed. The rain head is very effective and handset works well although the body jets were not to my liking. It look smart in the refurbished bathroom.Posted on Google Shaun MaggsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
