Buyers Guide

The ‘Home Saunas’ category is the whole-range overview: every indoor model and heater type Vidalux offers lives under this one roof, and the three categories below it (Infrared, Outdoor, Finnish) go deeper on each.

Here you can find our full-spectrum infrared models with our complete heat technology for a gentler daily session, our traditional Finnish stove saunas for that classic high-heat, time-tested sauna ritual, and our hybrid saunas combine our infrared technology and a traditional stove in the convenience of one cabin.

For more information on any particular range, you should visit the individual category or see the FAQs below.

Full-spectrum infrared together with our Complete Heat Technology is one of the main reasons why Vidalux is the leading sauna brand.
Complete Heat pairs the additional benefits of full-spectrum quartz heaters together with carbon heaters for a direct and wide-covering heat with faster heat-up times and greater health rewards.

Hybrid Range: A traditional stove and the full-spectrum, Complete Heat infrared in the same cabin, for ultimate versatility. Available from 2- to 5-person models.
Traditional Finnish: Nordic and Klassikko ranges, traditional stove. Time-tested authentic Scandinavian practice, detailed further on the Finnish Saunas page.

Sizes run from 1 person (900 x 900 mm) up to a 4-5 person bench sauna model. As a rule of thumb, allow 50- 60 cm of clear space in front of the door, since it always opens outward, and 10- 15 cm above the cabin roof for assembly and cable access. Most cabins stand around 1900mm tall, but please check sizing on the product page

The main fork is electrical: most Full Spectrum run from a standard 13A socket, are ‘plug & play’ and are installed in minutes, while Hybrid models and traditional cabins need hardwiring.

The product page for each model states the exact requirements for that particular model. Beyond that, it’s a straight trade-off between session style (gentle daily infrared vs high-heat stove ritual) and whether one cabin needs to do both jobs (Hybrid) or just one.

Which Type Suits You?
Think about how you want your sessions to feel. If you’d like to unwind for half an hour at a comfortable heat, perhaps several times a week, infrared is the natural fit, and it’s the easiest to install. If you love intense heat, short rounds and pouring water on the stones, a Finnish sauna delivers the authentic experience. If your household is split, or you want both options, a Hybrid covers everyone in one cabin.

Where to start ………. The first UK sauna company to offer full-spectrum saunas. We were the first sauna company to develop the complete heat technology. We set the standards that others follow. Often imitated but never surpassed, our reviews speak for themselves.

Every cabin ships flat-pack for self-assembly and is built from sustainably sourced timber. Every sauna is designed and refined to Vidalux’s own specification. Leading innovation and build quality come as standard, full spectrum at no extra cost, and an industry-leading warranty for up to 5 years; such is our confidence in our items

FAQ’s

Understanding Full Spectrum Infrared
Full Spectrum refers to delivering the complete band of infrared heat: Near, Mid, and Far wavelengths. While many standard saunas on the market offer Far infrared alone—or treat full spectrum as a costly add-on—combining all three provides total, layered thermal coverage.

Each wavelength works at a distinct depth to maximise your wellness experience:
Near-Infrared: Delivers gentle, surface-level energy to support skin vitality and cellular rejuvenation.
Mid-Infrared: Reaches deeper into soft tissue and joints to support circulation and soothe tired muscles.
Far-Infrared: Penetrates deep to elevate core body temperature, promoting intense sweating and profound relaxation.

We offer Full Spectrum heaters to allow our customers to enjoy the heightened benefits this offers

The Vidalux Advantage: Complete Heat Technology
Rather than forcing customers to pay extra for essential upgrades, Vidalux incorporates Complete Heat technology directly into our saunas. By pairing high-output nano-carbon wall panels with precision quartz ruby glass heaters, Vidalux delivers all three wavelengths in a single, balanced session—giving you 100% spectrum coverage from day one.

Ruby Quartz Glass heaters directly where the user sits offer faster heat-up times, direct and powerful Infrared right where the user is seated. This heater type heats up the cabin much quicker

Nano-Carbon panels offer a wider spread of infrared for a consistent, deeper penetration. Together, they are engineered to offer the best of both worlds and a combination of the best health rewards, heat-up times and user experience

Almost anywhere indoors with a level floor: a spare bedroom, home gym, loft room, basement or even a large bathroom.

The cabin floor is raised and enclosed, so carpet underneath is fine. Many customers also install indoor models inside a fully enclosed garage, summerhouse or garden room. That’s possible, but the cabin isn’t weatherproofed, and any problems caused by the location (indoor range) aren’t covered by the warranty.

For somewhere exposed to the elements, choose from our Outdoor Saunas.

It depends on the model. Most Infrared models run from a standard 13A socket and are ‘plug and play’. Hybrid saunas and the larger traditional stove cabins need hardwiring instead. The product page for each model states what the specific requirements are for that model, so check before you buy if your installation options are limited.

We don’t and with good reason. Cabins are designed to be built in minutes, literally 10 minutes.
This build time is absolutely true when it comes to our smaller units, and it only increases very slightly as the units get bigger.

For the bulk of the build, you don’t need any tools whatsoever, and you only need a screwdriver on occasion to fit small accessories. Some models require fewer than four screws, and this includes a 2 for the door handle.

If you paid somebody more than £50 to install one of our units, you’d be upset. And that’s why we don’t do it: the travel time and the amount we’d then have to charge for it, for such a quick service, would be vastly higher than hiring any local DIY’er. See our installation videos – you’ll be shocked at just how easy these saunas are to install.

Many companies that do offer installation and charge a high amount, it should be noted, still do not connect up or install any electrics (if hard-wiring is required)

Infrared cabins run at up to 65°C and are usually ready in a little over 5 minutes, with the Ruby Quartz heaters giving noticeable warmth almost straight away.

Traditional stoves take longer to heat the cabin, typically 15 to 20 minutes, but reach up to 85°C for a classic high-heat session. Hybrids let you choose: infrared for a quick, gentle session, or the stove when you have time for the full ritual.

The free standard mainland UK delivery included in the price is a 5 to 7 working day service, with our dispatch team contacting you directly to agree on a dedicated delivery day that fits your schedule.

EXPRESS AND NEXT DAY DELIVERY options are available at checkout. To ensure maximum transit protection, your sauna is dispatched directly from our UK warehouse on a heavy-duty palletised carrier. Each unit is flat-packed into securely wrapped, manageable boxes specifically sized to pass smoothly through standard internal and external doorways.
Your shipment is fully tracked from start to finish, supported by a highly rated UK-based customer care team and backed by our long-term spare parts guarantee. With direct manufacturer oversight, precise delivery scheduling, and robust packaging, you can compare craftsmanship and choose assured wellness with complete confidence

Less than you might think.

Multiply your sauna’s wattage by your electricity rate. At around 25p per kWh:

Infrared saunas: a 2 person model (2300W) costs a maximum of 57p an hour, and one of the larger 4 person (2800W) is just 70p. – Real costs are lower as this is on maximum power; once the sauna is at the desired temperature, the power consumption reduces

Traditional and hybrid saunas: Even the very biggest traditional stove that draws 6kW costs a maximum of £1.50 an hour. Hybrids give you the choice: run infrared for everyday sessions at infrared running costs, and fire up the stove when you want a classic Finnish heat.

Again, real costs are lower, because heaters and stoves cycle off once the cabin reaches temperature.

The True Cost
Three one-hour sessions a week come to under £7 a month in a 2 person infrared model, and under £20 even with a 6kW stove at full power. Compare that with a £60 gym membership plus roughly £14 to £20 a month in fuel just for a 3 to 5 mile drive each way, before your travel time! See how running costs are calculated

This is the second Vidalux cabin I have purchased. This one is an electric shower, right hand in black.
It looks magnificent in my newly refurbished bathroom.
The cabin has reduced the amount of re-tiling required significantly. Relatively easy to install.

Vidalux SS80 NO ELECTRICS free standing shower cabin, purchased June 26.
This is the second purchase I have made of a shower cabin from Vidalux, from selection on the website to purchase everything was so easy, once the purchase was completed the confirmation support was excellent. I was emailed regarding a suitable delivery date of my choice and when I had chosen a date I was given a window time for delivery. All in all the selection, purchase and delivery date couldn’t have gone any smoother.
As with a previous purchase from Vidalux all components of the shower cabin were packaged for protection and once delivered it had everything required to build a complete shower cabin, as very precise instructions were included I had no problem in completing the self assembly my self, not a problem if your handy the instructions and videos on the Vidalux website are there to assist you if you’re struggling.
However if your not into DIY then you need to bring in someone who is capable of being able to assemble the unit whether they be professional or otherwise, certainly don’t try to assemble it yourself because you may regret it.
All in all I’m very satisfied with my second purchase from Vidalux and would definitely recommend them if your thinking of buying from them, quality units at very competitive prices.

Purchased a Vidalux RT79 as we needed a shower in a very small bathroom.
I chose this for its leak free promise and I can see from the construction that it is unlikely that leaks will be a problem.
The parts were good quality and fitted together without too much difficulty, that said, the instructions could have been a bit clearer especially for the plumbing connections. A manufacturing defect on the tray was swiftly and easily resolved by the customer service sending out a replacement.
The pod is small enough to fit where the bath was and unfortunately the shelf inside is just where I would bump my head on it, so that is removed.
The rain head is very effective and handset works well although the body jets were not to my liking.
It look smart in the refurbished bathroom.

Purchased a Vidalux 2 person sauna, sauna arrived well packaged on arranged day right up to my front door. Very straight forward to simply click all sides into place and it was done.
We absolutely love the sauna, very well built easy to use and the best way to relax at the end of the day. Also, wow! What a relaxing sleep I have when I have an evening sauna.
Perfect service thank you!

The two person sauna is pretty easy to assemble and looks great in our spare bedroom. Delivery options offered were most flexible and the actual delivery itself was superb. The sauna is simple to use, very efficient, excellent value for money and for anybody looking for one I really recommend you have a look at Vidalux.
