Privacy & Cookies

Last Updated: 5th August 2026

This page explains what personal information we collect when you buy from us or use this website, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. It also covers the cookies this website uses.

We’ve written it in plain English rather than legal language. If anything here isn’t clear, email us and we’ll explain it properly.

Who we are

Vidalux supplies saunas, steam showers and baths to homes across the UK. We’re the “data controller” for the information described on this page – meaning we’re responsible for how it’s looked after.

What we collect, and why

When you place an order
Your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number. We need these to take the order, arrange delivery and support you afterwards. Payments are handled by our payment providers – we never see or store your full card details.

When you register a warranty
Your order and product details, plus the installer and electrician details from your Completion Certificate, including the Part P certificate number where electrical work was involved. We need these to validate cover and handle any future claim.

When you make a warranty claim or start a return
The details of the issue, plus any photos or video you send us. We use these to identify the right part and to keep a written record of the claim.

When you contact us
By email, webchat or a form on this site, we keep the conversation so anyone on the team can pick it up without you having to repeat yourself. Emails are usually kept for a period of six months before our system automatically deletes

When you subscribe to offers
Your email address, used only to send you the offers you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

When you use this website
Your device and browsing information, through the cookies described below.

Our legal reasons for using it

  • To fulfil our contract with you – taking payment, delivering your order, honouring the warranty, handling returns.
  • To meet legal obligations – keeping sales and tax records for the period the law requires.
  • For our legitimate interests – answering enquiries, preventing fraud, and improving our products and service. We only rely on this where it doesn’t override your rights.
  • With your consent – marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information to anyone. We share it only where it’s needed to do the job:

  • Delivery partners and couriers, so your order can reach you.
  • Payment providers, to process your payment securely.
  • The retailer you bought from, where you ordered through a stockist such as Costco or B&Q, so your order and any claim can be matched up.
  • IT, hosting and software providers who keep this website and our systems running.
  • Professional advisers or authorities, where the law requires it.
  • Review Services, such as Trustpilot, may have your email address fed to their automatic systems to enable us to send a review link

Sending information outside the UK

Some of our providers, for example Google, Pinterest, PayPal and Trustpilot, are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred abroad, it’s protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep order, warranty and claim records for as long as we need them to support the product and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. For the reasons of supporting warranty, order information is kept for a minimum of 10 years.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct it if something’s wrong.
  • Delete it, where we don’t need to keep it for legal or contractual reasons.
  • Restrict or object to how we’re using it.
  • Transfer it to another provider.
  • Stop marketing to you immediately, no reason needed.

Email customerservices@vidalux.co.uk and we’ll deal with it. There’s no charge in normal circumstances, and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk though we’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This website uses them for four things:

Essential cookies: the ones the site can’t work without. They remember what’s in your basket, keep you signed in to your account, and protect our forms from spam and abuse. These are always on, because the site would break without them.

Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and where they run into trouble, so we can improve the site. We use this to see how the site is used, not to identify you by name or for promotional purposes.

Advertising and social cookies: we use a Pinterest and Meta tag so we can measure and improve our advertising.

Embedded content: our product videos are hosted on YouTube and our reviews are shown through Trustpilot & Google. When those load, the provider may set its own cookies. They’re governed by that provider’s own privacy policy, not ours.

Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings – every major browser lets you do this, and aboutcookies.org explains how. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of this site working, including the basket and checkout.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Changes to this page

If we change how we use personal information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
