Buyers Guide

A traditional Finnish sauna heats the air around you rather than your body directly, giving you the classic high-heat session many sauna lovers swear by.

Pour water over the hot stones and you get löyly, the burst of steam and heat at the heart of the Finnish ritual that’s been time-tested over centuries. Every model in this range is heated by a traditional electric stove, with stones included, and is designed for indoor use.

Nordic: elegant glass frontage and soothing integrated lighting, in 1, 2, 3 and 4 person sizes.
Klassikko: a large glass front with warm ambient lighting in the ceiling and behind the backrest, in 1, 2 and 3 person sizes.
Elegant: modern European styling with slatted side glass, chromotherapy lighting and Bluetooth, in 2 and 3 person sizes.
Hybrid: a traditional stove plus Complete Heat full spectrum infrared in one cabin, in 2, 3 and 4-5 person sizes.

Choose Finnish if you want intense heat, shorter sessions and the ritual of pouring water on the stones. Choose infrared if you prefer gentler warmth, longer sessions and a plug-in installation on most models. If you can’t decide, or others in your home prefer something different, a Hybrid gives you both in one cabin with no drop in performance or compromise on either system.

A traditional sauna session is built around rounds. Build up tolerance to spend 10 to 15 minutes in the heat, ladling water over the stones whenever you want a burst of löyly, then step out to cool off with a cold shower or fresh air before going back in. Most people enjoy two or three rounds, finishing with a rest and plenty of water. It’s a ritual that’s been at the heart of Finnish life for centuries, and with a sauna at home you can enjoy it whenever you like, with no booking, no travel and no sharing.

Sizes run from compact 1-person cabins to the 4-5 person Hybrid Bench. Allow 50 to 60cm of clear space in front of the outward-opening door and 10 to 15cm above the roof for assembly and cable access. Once built, the cabin can sit flush against a wall, but you will need access around it during the build. Check exact dimensions and minimum room height on each product page.

Every Finnish cabin is designed and refined to our own specification, with stones included as standard and a click-together build that takes minutes, leaving only the electrics for your electrician. Such is our confidence in our quality, each item comes with a complete 5-year warranty. The range is backed by a UK-based team that knows every model inside out.

FAQ’s

Yes, every model. Traditional sauna stoves are fixed appliances, so even the smallest cabin must be hardwired by a Part P qualified electrician rather than plugged into a socket. Each product page lists the stove rating, so your electrician can quote before delivery

Traditional stoves heat the cabin to 85°C+, compared with around 60°C for infrared. As a guide, allow around 15 to 20 minutes to reach a desirable temperature. Most people initially enjoy shorter sessions of 15 to 20 minutes, cooling off in between.

The cabin itself is designed with ventilation built in, so the air stays fresh during your session. The room it sits in just needs normal ventilation, such as a window, a door or an air brick, as any living space would have.

The water you pour on the stones is only a ladleful at a time, so the moisture released is small and clears quickly once the door is opened. Avoid enclosed cupboards or unventilated spaces, and allow the cabin to air out with the door open after use.

Yes. The floor sits raised and enclosed inside the cabin, so heat doesn’t reach the floor beneath it, and a carpeted spare room is perfectly suitable. You just need a smooth, level floor that can take the cabin’s weight.

Both, and you control it. Between pours, a Finnish sauna is a dry heat with low humidity, which lets you tolerate the high temperature comfortably. Ladle water over the hot stones and the humidity rises briefly with a burst of steam (löyly), making the heat feel more intense. Pour more often for a steamier session, or leave the stones dry for a lighter one.

Careful not to dowse the stones too much as this will extinguish the heat. It is this art of working a sauna that has a rich history of enjoyment

A Hybrid combines a traditional stove with our Complete Heat full-spectrum infrared in one cabin, each with its own controls. Both systems with no loss in performance or compromise on either system for having both.

Use the stove when you want intense Finnish heat and löyly, or switch to infrared for a gentler, longer session with a faster warm-up. It’s ideal for households where people prefer different styles or simply for versatility. Like all stove saunas, Hybrids must be hardwired by a qualified electrician

We don’t install, and most customers find they don’t need us to. Cabins are delivered flat-pack with a click-together build that goes up in minutes with basic DIY skills.

The only specialist job is the electrical connection: every traditional stove must be hardwired by a qualified electrician, so book them in once your sauna has arrived and been assembled. Watch our installation videos to see what’s involved.

Less than you might think.

At around 25p per kWh, a 3.6kW stove costs a maximum of 90p an hour, and a 6kW stove about £1.50.

Real costs are lower because the stove cycles off once the cabin reaches temperature so these are the maximum costs. Three one-hour sessions a week come to under £20 a month even on the largest stove, well below a £60 gym membership.
