When a steam shower only produces lukewarm water, even with the temperature knob turned up, the thermostatic cartridge is typically the cause.
You can replace the cartridge on its own. If you are replacing the whole shower valve instead, you do not need a separate cartridge.
A Vernet wax sensor version
This is a branded Vernet wax sensor cartridge, sold as an alternative to the standard Type 6 push-fit cartridge.
Vidalux also sells the standard Type 6 cartridge and the screw-fit Type 8 Vernet cartridge, so it is worth checking which type your valve takes before you order.
